can anyone say through experience that u can defo feel more pull/ acelleration going -1 on the front on an rr6 on track? is it adequate, or would +2 on the rear improve things even more. or is it not worth the top speed trade in?

Massive improvement in acceleration! As for top speed, some tracks you don't need top speed as their straights aren't long enough to get there.

What Steve said, I'd say for track this is a huge improvement.

Not an rr6 but I run -1f and +1 longer tracks like Snet and +2 shorter. Can't recal maxing the bike out speed wise anywhere tbh?? 180 at Snet maybe?? Don't tend to look at speedo flat out lol

This year ill have the gps though so will log max speeds accurately :)

It is yes. You will feel a big difference. Just remember, if you're sprockets have considerable miles on them, they and your chain will be worn and fitting just a new sprocket will result in quicker wear.

I run a cbr600rr on the track, and you will definitely notice -1 on the front, especially out of the corners. As a general rule of thumb, it is said that 1 tooth on the front is equal to 4 teeth on the rear

hi mate don't know if it helps but on my blade I went 1 down on the front and 1 up on the rear, changed the bike so much, much better acceleration out of corners, just don't stop wheelie though

I'd go with that as that's how many times 15 goes in to 45 :D

    I'm 15/44 on the RR5 and 15/46 on the RR6 (soon to be 47 on the RR6 = -1 & +3).
The RR5 is really useable on the road, yet only mental if your use all the revs.
The RR6 as a track bike I've not ridden yet, but looking forward to it :D

-1 front is awesome.. did this this to my 06 blade last year and left everyone for dead on the straights at knockhill (was beginners group though haha)!

Great vid dude, but i have to say, the most random choice of backing track ;) ! Today, i am searching out a track day to do locally because i am so missing out !
Did the change in front sprocket put the speedo out by much ?

There is not a track in uk where you need top speed, there is prob not a race bike that has not changed gearing for better punch by going down front and or up rear to get this. Even on Jerez or Almeria with long straights you dont loose out as by the time bikes with lower gearing catch you up its almost time for braking. Do it.

I'm also looking into changing gearing, my chain and sprockets are in good nick tho so was thinking about just changing the rear to a 44T which would break me in to lower gearing and then change the lot next time round, will the plus two rear standard front be good enough for track days or do i have to grow a pair stop being mean and change the lot now ?

If it's your road bike then it'll be good enough for now. It will allow you to be lazy in to the fast bends too as you can get away with going down fewer gears.

Yes its my road bike too, and yes that makes sense, same principle as my old cr 500 4 speed, never forget this young wiper snapper keeping up and eventually passing me on a newer yz 125 on a track we had made up top by me, got off my 500 and had a go on this 125 see what was what, couldn't get the hang of having to change down every gear it had to get the power back then it out of revs before you was out of the bend, get the 500 into third and you could forget about the gears, guts on tap, at most a lil feather of the clutch and away !
