Have given in and got a set of Brembo M4 (aka blink) for the bike. I'm thinking of putting some easy bleed nipples on them and wondered if they are any good, or just a waste of time?

Sounds like a good idea but haven't used them sorry, I've got a mityvac hydraulic pump which is good for bleeding brakes

Are the hoses are very snug fit on the nipple or kind of loose? I bought a knock kit of a mityvac and the hose is a touch too big.

I have always used a pipe in bottle and bled away done my bike from dry front and rear in 20 mins . Just start with master then right caliper then left never had the need to use a bleeder or speedy nipples lol :D

Ahh but this simply mean you don't have to open and close the bleed valve for each lever press, and besides your 20 mins will take me hours ;)

Right I'm going to get some once I know the right size to get. Next decision is if I go for the Stahlbus at £20+ each, or the Goodyear at under £10 each.

What's the difference between the two makes? Is one stainless and other plated mild steel?

the Stahlbus's are much more advanced

see diagram, the cheaper ones you still need to loosen at the caliper thread, risk of wear, xthreading etc. Stahlbus uses a separate thread to bleed

That said I have the goodyears, never looked back!

Never use them, Brembo's are easy to bleed, they will even bleed themselves if you leave the bleeder open long enough. Just don't forget to bleed the master!

I've read this a few times but wow I had time getting them going when I put on the M4's the other day. I was wondering what the hell was going on because I was going at it for a good 20 mins before I could get anywhere.

Replaced lines etc many times over the years and never had it take so long to get them started.

Well I contacted Brembo to confirm the required sizes etc, asked Arthur but he wasn't sure, but he was of course right ;)

    Here is their response:
To be honest, I would not recommend these in place of the bleed nipple, they are questionable as they are ask for thread length and I am also worried that the taper angle on the seating area may not be correct.

Our bleed nipples are M10x1. Thread length is 8mm

Based on that and Arthur's advice I guess I am best going to the chemist to get a MTFU pill and use the supplied kit.

I found that once the Brembo MC was bleed the M4 were really easy. If the MC is bleed and you can feel pressure on the lever M4's are straight forward.
