I've tried to search both here and on google, but can't find any info on fitting the HRC kit ECU to a standard loom. Can it be done and does anybody know what modifications are required?

The HRC ECU will plug in but will not work with the Euro Loom mainly to do with HISS. I have been told that it can be rewired but its also possible to just replace the US wiring instead (The US don't have HISS).

I'm not sure if I mentioned its a 2008 model.

I'm wondering if the later ABS loom would work and then let me plug in the wheel speed sensors and therefore use the HRC traction control, anti wheelie etc.

I did find some information about the 04-07 blade, which mentions disconnecting the clutch switch. Apart form that it's all plug and play. Here's the link ROGUE RACING HRC ECU CBR1000RR

The abs loom has no connections back to the engine ECU, bar power pickup points from fuse box/starter relay and starter switch/clutch switch connections the abs loom is completely independent of the normal engine non abs equipped loom so I would expect difficulty trying to connect speed sensors up that way causing the need to butcher the wiring to make connections work!

Thanks for the information. Reading through the HRC manual it all seems plug and play on the std loom although I can't imagine that's the case. Will have to dig a little deeper.

The 2008 model didn't come with ABS. If it works, look for a 2009 HRC ECU as that has the Traction control and anti-wheelie config you are looking for. The HRC ECU is not interested in ABS or non ABS.

The threads state about disconnecting side stand and clutch switch. I can link you up with someone running a modified stock euro loom which was made by the Aussie Honda SBK team.

The HRC ECU was for 09-11 but can be used on 08. It can be run with the OEM Loom but you loose the HISS on euro spec bikes, once I was told the HESD was also disabled but I don't think that's the case iirc for 08-11 **.

** I ran a HRC ECU on my 07 and it did disable the HISS and HESD.

    See here

HONDA CBR1000RR HRC RACE ECU - UK ROAD AND RACE

Also FYI I was told back in 2008 that's the OEM ECU also has antispin TC based on engine RPM peaks.

Most think the Blade does not have TC but it has a kind of TC much the same as Bazzaz. (info based on my pre press chat to Honda back in 08)

I'm Buggered then with 5116! Do I talk that much crap! :O

In short it's a race loom, no indicator, headlight wiring and so on.

Yes afaik there are two types. The standard as described and second which needs the race loom for front wheel speed sensor.

It has plugs for anti spin and the options of a data logger and quickshifter. It has wiring for lap timer, pit limiter and mode changes. Some of this can still be done with tweaks to a stock loom though

I might just give them Track Electronics a call tomorrow, see if they can help.

I was wondering if the std loom would have all the inputs for the wheel speed sensor and HRC data cable. I guess it doesn't.

The bike is Barry's old wagon, which I've started to fit lights in a Suzuka 8hr style (it's easier to get insurance that way), so using the standard loom is a definite plus, as all the bits are there to connect the lights up. I'd happily build an auxiliary loom to operate the lights, if an HRC loom turned up, but at over £500 new I wanted to see what other options are available
