Evening friends... Right, i installed a PZ Racing Geartronic Zero GT310-H1 into my bike. Plugged everything in, all seamed to light up fine and scroll through the colours when i earthed the white wire etc and it showed zero. Didn't have the bike running or anything, just a quick bit of admiring as the build goes on... This evening i thought id sort out all the wiring nice and neat. I cut about a foot of excess wire out of the big wire that goes from the units connector to the diagnostics connector. soldered the wires, heat shrunk them individually and the heat shrunk the whole lot. Tested each pin in the connectors with a multimeter and current was all good. Plugged it all back together, turned the ignition on to have a looksy, and its not working ! Lights up in the red i last left it on, but there is no zero showing, just a little dash in the middle, and earthing the white wire doesn't do anything at all !! Anyone know what the feck is wrong here ?? Assistance will be massively appreciated !
Yeah, followed instruction, and went on there site for trouble shooting and it doesn't mention this problem
Is there a reset option? On the gear indicators I have had a "-" meant it was confused and didn't know what was happening.
Might sound daft but have you actually started the bike rather than just turning the ignition on! I'm sure mine just shows a dash until bike runs but I'm using the GIpro indicator.. Just a thought!
No, i haven't fired her up mate, but i haven't since i stripped her and the indicator seemed it was doing its thing with just the ignition on. now it just doesn't want to play ! So pissed off... Ive sent an email to the tech team at PZRacing, but i don't hold much hope as they are italian...
well my first thing would be to start the bike.most indicaters ususally need programming on the bike whilst it's running so it knows the V's* for each gear. *I'm assuming that's how they work, differetn gear, different Mv voltage
Tech team at PZRacing replied to email and said the - means it can't communicate with the ecu ! I am such a muppet sometimes ECU is actually disconnected ! Wish they had mentioned what this meant on their trouble shooting site before i cut all the lovely neat work id done open to check everything for the fourth time Muppet !!! And now I've totally lost the front wheel bearings, just as i was gonna get them put in... Spent an hour pulling the place apart looking for them but no... Do you ever have one of them days where everything is just a complete wear out load of bollocks....
and the winner of Numpty of the year 2015 is I did find one reference to the display showing just a dash but they said it was only on a ZX10 if you got the connectors the wrong way round, but that was it.
