I bought my 05 blade new and embarrassingly, it took me quite a while to realize it wasn't making the power it should. Only when I had it on a dyno at the TT did I see how underpowered it actually was! Never seemed to hold me back on my local roads.
The bike was totally standard although I had bought it as an import.........Hence.......

So off I go back to the dealer where I bought it as a supposed full power model.
"Sorry mate it must have slipped through"........Yeah Whatevaaahhhh!

Anyway, they de-restricted it and whoopee doo, it made 145bhp with a PC3 and K+N air filter.

Had a custom map fitted and up it went again to 152bhp.

    :) :) :)

Ran it like this for quite a while and was very happy until I tracked it. Put a full race titanium Akrapovic on it but no power gain. :(

So, I've been busy over the Winter in search of more power and look what I found!

    :D :D :D

175bhp!!!! with a maximum torque of 84.86, can't wait to try her out next Wednesday at Oulton!

Re-profiled cams and ported head. It was dynoed at FW Developments who I believe are very reputable.

Much did I cost you for the cams reprofiling and head work mate?

Something I'm possibly going to look into in the near future.

    PM me if you like.

That's a very healthy gain, you must be very pleased with that. I was considering getting mine done last year but several people put me off because of the cost against the potential gains. With those gains though it sounds worth it.

What's the best / cheapest way to get a power commander?

Is the PCIII still OK or would I need a PCV for my RR4???

Rich, the power commander has been on there for years. It's a PC111 that I bought second hand off Ebay.
You don't need a PC5 for everyday use, they do a couple of other things but the 111 is plenty enough.

Always had mine done at Junction 33 but couldn't get hold of him last time so I took it to JB Racing and wasn't very happy with it. The guy that tuned it for me recommended FW to me.

So, for all of you that would like to know the cost.......I had it done by a very good friend who did it very cheap and it would break your hearts if I told you how much! I believe you're looking in the region of £2500 to £3000 if you go to a tuning company.
