i'm thinking of getting a power commander and map for my bike(2012 with yoshi r77 & standard filter)but not sure which is better between the pc111 or pcv? also is there anything else i should do at the same time for better results?
my bike has 500 miles on the clock at the moment so still being gentle but was surprised to get about 130 miles out of a tank as have heard of peaple getting a bit more which is why im thinking of doing the map.
also can i do the map with this sort of milage?

    cheers

I'm not even sure you can get a PC3 for a 2012> bike ... You would be better off with the PCV as it connects to all lower four injectors.

As for fuel mileage I also get around 130-135 before the fuel light comes on... This is about right.

I'm afraid you're stuck with the dated and inflexible PC 5 due to the heavily locked down Honda ECU's

Us Kwak, Yam and Suzuki owners can now benefit from the infinitley better ECU Flashing kits. :D

Best inform DJ etc time to stop making all those FI units :D lol

As much as I am a fan of ECU flashing it does have its downsides.

The owner has no way of viewing, re loading, saving the mapping most of the time.
Only places kitted out to map ECUs can do so. ie Most dyno centres map PCs.
To go back to OEM you need to reflash the ECU.
If it fails and no backup by your friendly chappy you need a full remap.
Fine details are often "unknown" to Joe Blogs such as number of throttle positions mapped and Rev brakes. I.e PCV each 250rpm and 10 throttle positions, each cyclinder maps and each gear, total of 24 fuel maps, plus AT too.

    And so on :)

    Not knocking it though :)

I spose that's true Art for just direct Mapping but I was referring to the new wave of full on Pro Kits like the Woolich Pro Log kit fitted to my ZX10

You can infinitely adjust all sorts of very detailed settings including the Traction Control etc along with full Autotune working in conjunction with a Zeitronix Wideband O2 sensor which only updates once you've looked at it and OK'd it via a Blutooth or mini usb connected Tablet or Laptop.

That's a GOOD system! You'd think all tuning would be done directly in time, well I say that but that's the assumption you'd come to given that certain bikes have infinite scope for tuning, like Ducati where any number of throttle positions can be created as well as all other factors can be tuned even fan trips and run times, in those cases another level of tuning is certainly possible, you'd think that all manufactures would want this but sadly a few will always want to keep their programming etc behind closed doors I.e LOCKED. Up from OEM and the possibilities are truly endless, as far as I know a full fat aftermarket ECU is blank, ALL the functions of the electronics package have to be programmed and setup, that's a fair job! Imagine having to work out ignition timings for four pots accros X amount of RPM, then sort the fueling based on air and engne temp etc, mind boggling! Have a dig if your bored on GSXR ECU codeing, some guys pulled the whole firmware and I was reading through it, broken down into raw lines of code it was an eye opener to how complex the fuel mapping is on a fairly simple bike! :)
