Right first things first, I am absolutely broke at the moment as not worked for over 2 months and so I am on a major not spending money spree, to the extent that I may even have to sell my new Brembo M4s to help pay the mortgage next month, and the month after will mean the bike goes With that in mind is the rear hose OK like this. I know it's not ideal but is it safe and OK to have like this?
nightmare abou the job.. hope you manage to pick up something soon BS. The hose is on the same mounting point at the heal guard, so shouldnt really be a big issue but vibrations may wear it slightly I guess. If you take your heal guard off and check if its worn. If it is, I have a spare braided line somewhere that I will send down to you FOC.. Bike safe for riding is more improtant than money
Fingers crossed you find something soon, like Gilesy said if it hasn't got wear marks it should be ok
man thats a mare about the job, been worried about mine for a while but agree with the points already raised, having said that would bother me slightly and i'd need to sort out just for piece of mind
Thanks guys, hopefully something will turn up soon but have never been without a contract this long, and this is following on from a shite year contract wise. Should have been clearer, sorry about that, it's a brand new hose and is only currently fitted finger tight. From what you are saying I think I will put something like a piece of cycle inner-tube in between the hose and heel-plate.
Sorry to here about the job mate hope things turn round soon! Anyway do black ones go fast enough to use the brakes then?
Almost there. The black ones are faster on the track, but it's the white ones that are faster on the road Re the job. We're looking for TV sales people to work on weekends if that helps. https://jobs-channelassist.icims.com/jobs/1076/panasonic-viera-promoter---vacancies-uk-wide/job On the brake front, I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that the hose looks like it could rub away on the heel guard. Will the guard bend out slightly so there's just enough of a gap to stop any contact?
I know you said that the hose is only finger tight but my concern would be the angle that the flexible hose is leaving the ferrule, looks wrong to me.
Cheers for the job info. I can't do sales though, don't have the gift of the gab. Can't bend the plate out as it butts up against the rearset, so for now have put some rubber sleeving around the hose to minimise any rubbing.
I'm not keen on it, but needs must and I think (hope?) it should be OK. Will need to keep an eye on it but hopefully the sleeving I fitted will tied me over for now.
I keep looking at it dude, and i just don't like it ! Cant you run it down the back ? Or like Haggler said and space it ! And whats that last picture ? Its kinda tripping me out
Oh yeah, and damn shite about the job thing... If you have a security license i may be able to sort you out !
Nice one @Haggler ®™ hadn't thought of that, should make it better @Blackness the last photo is from underneath looking up
For what it's worth I wouldn't be happy with it like that. Could you not fit it on the opposite side? Also looks like you have a twist in the line ? If you hold the ferrule with pliers (wrap ferrule with tape or rubber sleeve) you can rotate the banjo to correct position taking the twist out. Hope something turns up on the job front!!
Has to come round that side as there is a spur on top the MC on the other side. Have twisted the ferrule so should be fine, I tried a few different ways round.
Been doing the same job on my rear tonight. I ended up positioning mine opposite side next to spur but my banjo is at 90 degrees as I'm running it under the swing arm.
Thanks for that but no SIA license I'm afraid. Did security back in the early 90s but have been in IT ever since.
Well I followed Haggler's advice and spaced it a bit, although I used some nuts instead of washers. That and the rubber sheathing should keep it all nice and safe for now.
