hi just bought the bike bout a month ago with 5800 miles on it and needs a service do you think would be better to put into a garage and get it done and have them look over everything or just as well to do it myself?
Guess it depends on how technically minded you are........are you any good with a spanner? You will find a service schedule checklist in the service manual showing everything that should be getting checked for service yr/mileage. If you are in any doubt about your ability you might be best getting someone else to do it for you.
Can do maintenance side of things but wouldn't be stripping the engine tho as I'm the type to rebuild it and be left with a couple of spare parts just wondering really if it would be better to get a mechanic to go over the bike and get a full service or just change the spark plugs oil filters etc . Just looking to see how some of you guys or gals would go about it really thanks
Don't know the yr of your bike but goin by the mileage the bikes only due oil/filter renewal, everything else is clean and inspect. The service checklist gives you a list to work down and verify everything is as it should be. You will find most folks on here will carry out their own servicing to their bikes but again it really comes down to your confidence level as to whether you feel happy doing the work yourself.
Thanks was type of thing I was after knowing what others would do if they would go further and do spark plugs etc or just a routine service just bike has only got one service done
