    Hiya everyone.

There been quite a few comments regarding adverts on the forum recently. I wanted to take a moment to let you know a couple of things:
    • The amount of adverts has not increased
    • Categories of adverts have not changed
Adverts provide a (small) revenue stream for the forum allowing things like purchasing new software packages, pay for increased server space etc etc.

Regarding the dating ads, unfortunately we are the target market for that category! Those companies WANT to advertise to men / bikers of our age and demographic. They pay the most to google to advertise on the site so google automatically display them. I totally get the point around double standards - some of them are too close to what Google would actually deem 'sensitive'. I have no control over what Google allow.

Everyone would love an ad free world. Unfortunately, this is how the (most of) the internet is powered. What you may have noticed is the adverts are now responsive. This means that the advert size changes to fit in with the screen size you are viewing on. So, in the past if you were viewing from a mobile, the ad would have appeared tiny. They now adapt to the screen size.

There should never be more than 3 adverts on the screen at once. On this forum there is only ever 2 adverts at a time on the forum pages.

I will soon put an option to disable ads for a small fee (£5 a year) if anyone wants to subscribe (and I will work a system out to give it to anyone that's donated in the past 12 months).

I hope this helps a bit.

    Cheers,
    Rob.

I'd be happy to pay £5 for an ad free site

Adblock on Google chrome works a treat and stops the adverts a treat. So much so, never realised that there was ads!

Filters most of the web addresses for advertisers when the.page loads. It's not 100% exact but works every time for me
