Had new tyres fitted Saturday, was a last minute thing as relised mot ran out tomorrow, so I found a local guy at a bike garage to fit some new tyres and mot the bike, took him hour n half and I was quite happy as he did seem to help me out by fitting it all in at 7am as Saturday was the only day I could do, also my number plate would of failed so he got me a replacement to get it passed.. However when looked at tyres I noticed some paint scratched off front wheel and some chunks where it seems the machine had been on wheel... I didn't say anything at the time cos as I say he helped me out but it's bugging me. What should I do?
Picture not great but It was taken On the day, u can just see the white parts where paint missing which there are about 4 around the inner rim on this side...

it's the clamps in the machine that do that, proper bike ones have inserts to stop doing that,i guess only thing you can do is go back,if theres 4 there, then theres no hiding what did it,but wether it would get you anywhere who knows.

another good reason to do them yourself,at least when i scratch mine i know who's fault it is

I think this situation is pretty much similar to checking your change from a cashier at the time coz you can pretty much forget about any sort or recompense after the fact!

Those marks are I would guess are either made by kerb or similar if they we there before tyre change or I would say it's where the guy trapped the lever while trying to get the tyre to come off, one mark for each side of the bead as its getting lifted.

Levers are not needed for fitting the tyre back on with a machine hence only two removal marks!

Just had my wheels freshly powder coated and I can assure you I would have had a paddy!

I know the guys who change my tyres at Thunder Road Bridgend and they know they have come in in the condition they are in! Thats not to say I couldn't drop a brake pad when servicing the calipers! Doh! I was spewing!!! Had to touch it in but it's not noticeable!:(

I don't leave mine with anybody , I insist on staying with the bike and over seeing the tyres changed . If they don't agree to it I go somewhere else . If they dos good job they won't mind someone watching . It's for things like that damage happening that I'm so fussy . Also a local guy to me fitted my front wheel in the wrong way round (abs disk on opposite side) and also fitted a mate of mines triumph St rear wheel the wrong way . Then another mate he chipped the wheel and tried touching up with similar paint hoping it would go in noticed . Not going there anymore but he never actually damaged mine . Not mentioning who it was on here tho
