Hi new member here,i have had my 2008 blade for 6 years now done 21000 faultless miles in total, fitted a few extras including leovince gp pro exhaust,ASV levers,Sato street hooks, Honda carbon hugger, braided brake lines, fender extender and Wilbers shock, love the bike and not intending to swap in the near future. Only problem is i started to get a few age related aches and pains on longer rides so i bought some gilles tooling riser bars 40mm . Could do with some help or advice from any forum member who has fitted these as the instructions say you have to do some cutting around the right hand ram air tube to get the clutch cable to work/fit properly, although this is what gilles say, is this absolutely essential as i don't really fancy doing this unless absolutely necessary. Any help or advise much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Here is a pic of the bike on the way up to Oban, and one a bit closer.
Hi and welcome. Its likely due to the higher bars raising the cable and changing the routing, I would look at all other routes and as long as it doesnt hinder the operation of the clutch on full opposite locks or hinder the steering or interfere with anything else I would leave it where im happy with it.
A friend of mine bought a full "kit" to raise his bars on a 02 blade. The kit include cables and no mention of hacking away at your bike. http://www.spieglerusa.com/handlebar-conversion-kit-4281.htm
