That will be two seasons after that. The list is ..., but it will cost 4 grand to get it up to 190 ish. Sure scoob has better knowledge about all on that. U saw my thread how close I was to buying a Zx
Lot of spondoolies but I'd understand why you'd do it... I know, I'd be torn also. But will prob upgrade for similar money tbh (well a little more) as fancy a change and wouldn't mind seeing how I go on track with 190 on tap and a few gizmos! (Straight to the medical center prob )
When you want to tune an engine you have to need to know what you re doing, if not, there is a problem ....... lol If you want power, you ned compression and not a little, you need HC pistons and or a big skimmed head. Honda engine needs compression to work. If you want to degree your cams in the future try to attempt 110/105 with stock cams but you ll need compression of course. our blade engine can put out big power/torque when you know what to do. I ve gain 30 hp to the wheel without lost any mid, and my engine is still strong and reliable , it's a street motor.
A tyre I had ready to go on would have mate tbh.... I don't want to rely on it to get me out of trouble, but to use it to my benefit if that makes sense....
with regard to the blade engines and 180+,it's quite easy to get,and not expensive. my 09 was 182,with (I think 86ft/lb torque).this was dyno'd after an engine refresh/rebuild,and then a good dyno man that knows what he's doing, not someone that just tries to fudge the figures to make it look good. it was a basic stock motor with a little skimmed off the block(theres a good reason to doing this),runnning standard gaskets.no porting or gas flowing,no hi comp pistons. standard cam wheels were slotted to be able to advance the timing, con rods were weighed, machined and balanced, crank was balanced. and that was about it. if you want to start going down the 190+ then that's easy aswell, just bloody expensive, and then reliability comes into play.
The engine builder told me he had built a superstock blade for Keith Amor (The yellow one he hurt his shoulder on on 2011) and reckoned it was 178bhp. With the big road race internationals being run to FIM regs though it's likely this would have run HRC ECU and loom that a fellow racer who had one told me added 6bhp through the midrange on the dyno before they had even started setting it up!. Cheers for the replies guys. Maybe I was being a bit hopeful looking for 175bhp from a stocker with stock ECU.
Emptied the tank tonight and removed the fuel pump from the bottom. Opened up the fuel pump to check the little tea bag style fuel filter/strainer. I guess it's quite dirty looking, does anyone know where you can buy new ones from?.
Ah well she went and flung a rod through the crank cases before I even made it to a race . Two track day sessions, a practice day at Knockhill and a practice at East Fortune, warm up and qualifying at East Fortune then shat it's pants on the warm up lap for race one, less than 100 miles. A bloody disaster. New engine bought from Mark aka "Yorkshire Gooner"
Ouch ! Hopefully fingers crossed you make it.You guys make it a good spectacle to watch, mate races the pre inj when he can, but the racing in your class is brilliant to watch all best for the rest of the season
