I've just insured my bike for another 12 months with MCE, their not the cheapest but it's quite a good policy for £135
Interesting note though, if your bike gets stolen wether it a locked garage or not if the steering lock isn't applied it is not covered, so if the bike gets nicked and trashed but the the steering lock isn't broken etc then your knackered?

First things first.....£135:eek:not the cheapest:eek:. Are you sure it's a fireblade?
I thought £226 from MCE was good, but that's great!
The steering lock thing is pretty standard as is if you declare it garaged and its stolen from your drive then an extra excess is applied. I always put the lock on anyway, make it as hard as possible if someone does decide to have a go at it. Personally I think my Almax chain is more of a deterrent than the steering lock tho:D

Your probably not coming up to 50 mate, I would rather be 21 and pay £1000

Lol I'll be 43 this year but I've only been riding for 8 years so I suppose that makes a difference. And the bike is not exactly standard so they get me there too:(
I know what you mean about being 21 again:D

Mine's due in under a month and a quick comparison site search also gave me MCE at about £135 with mods declared and protected NCB. Excess is a bit heavy though at over £500 compulsory.

:D don't jump to conclusion pal if you were 21 on a fireblade, you'd be most probable be in hospital!!;)

I find the steering lock exclusion shocking. R U sure it applies to when the bike is at home in a locked garage?

maybe this is the price to pay for a dirt cheap insurance.
