Whilst cleaning bike and removing plastic cover on left side and sprocket cover on my 2012 ABS model, the hose pictured came away with very little effort as if it was not attached at the other end.
Is this the fuel tank breather hose?
Will it cause any problems not being connected?
How big a job to re-attach it?
    Cheers

That's the breather pipe from the petrol tank mate. I had the same issue a few weeks back.

Just lift the tank slightly and re-attach

You might find a plastic adaptor further up where the hose slipped away without having to lift the tank.

That adapter is clipped to the bottom of the tank.

For the OP that pipe is the overflow that's just to the side of the filler cap, when the cap is open you can see it, it also drain rain and wash water from that area and when kinked or blocked water builds up and rusts the filler cap and let's excess water enter the tank it's a silly pipe but worth routing righ.

If you split it where the white joiner is then attach the short section to the adapter that's clipped to the tank as Colin says you can feed that half through when lowering the tank, then attach the long section once the tank is lowered.

I'm kinda hoping to find more hose their to attach to as this piece is def not long enough to reach top of tank. Is the end of the hose supposed to fit thru lower fairing near side stand? It was up inside plastic cover when I removed it.

Job done. As suggested lifted tank up and supported on piece of wood. Hose was not attached at tank. Clip that holds hose union to bottom of tank missing but I'll replace that later over winter when fitting quick shifter. Cheers folks:)

Thanks for all your replies, I'll take a look later. I did have my tank up a couple of weeks ago to get to the air box, probably dislodged it then. Cheers again
