Hey people. Thought I'd drop in and join to get to know the owners and bikes a little better. Names Blake and I'm 33 and I'm a vehicle technician for Jaguar. Mot test class 1,2 and 4 but unfortunately not bikes at present employer. Been riding since 8 years old and owned everything from motocrossers to R1's. Currently on a zx6r but wanting to join the world of blade ownership soon. Always wanted one and was thinking 2nd hand 5-6k rr6 ish. Well.. that was until I dropped by the local dealership yesterday. First mistake.. Now after a restless night dreaming about a brand new machine and finance plans... that's brought me to here. So it's hello from me and hope to get round know you all soon. Blake.
welcome fella, i came from a zx6 too,(cracking little bike) theres plenty of info on here and a good bunch too, you wont regret getting on the blade mate
Welcome. I also came from a ZX6R, found the size and feel very similar to my 2006 Blade, just with a shed load ore power
Thanks for the welcomes. I've had a couple of litre sports bikes in the past, but never anything modern. Only ever had one fuel injected bike! Booking a demo on the 2015 blade Tom but I think it's a forgon conclusion that I'm going to like it. I just have to get my head around the finance and the fact they want to limit you to 4k a year. I normally clock up 5k on Ave and I know if I buy one I'm going to want to ride it lots.
Welcome and I'm sure you'll love the Blade. Since getting mine, average mileage has shot up as I'm out at every opportunity.
Welcome phone every dealer you can you may be surprised at what you can get without having to do a pcp .
I would have thought you could pick up a decent RRA for around the 6k mark, you wouldn't lose much on that and no limit on mileage either. Depends if you want the all the costs associated with a new bike or are happy to service your own bikes when they are out of warranty?
Maintenance is no issue as I've always serviced my own bikes. My missus will vouch I'm a little ocd and am never quite happy when I buy second hand bikes. Guess it's just the nature of the beast. Never had a new vehicle of any kind so the thought of it appeals I must say. And not having to put up with the niggles I've had to with most of my other bikes. Have booked the demo for sat so shall have a hoon and see how they feel ☺ Fingers crossed for the weather. Supposed to be shite.. Had a quick calculate on the 5p per mile penalty on milage over the 12k allowance over 3 years and its £150 if I do 15k so not the end of the world. Plus I guess it's only relevant if I wished to swap it in against another new one. Which is likely probably
Welcome bud i came from a zx6r 07 burnt orange i loved that bike, dont worry about the monthly cost the smile on your face will pay for that. Good luck with your search i have just got mine last month trying to put it all back together now hopefully it will still be sunny when its done, post up some pics when you get the bike
