Hi, when removing the entire airbox assembly from an 08+, is it necessary as it suggests in this article (section 3.7) to relieve the fuel pressure by reconnecting wiring and starting the bike again for a few seconds until it stalls before disconnecting the fuel line rail? http://www.fireblader.dk/i_files/cbr1000rr/air_cleaner/air_cleaner.htm Cheers for your help!
maybe it's best practice but I have only disconnected the fuel line/reconnected then started as normal
Cheers slick, that worked just fine. Didn't remove the connection on base of tank, just reconnected the connections on right and disconnected pump, fired it up and it ran for 3 seconds and stalled as expected. That took the pressure out the air box fuel line. That rubber cap and blue collar system seems to work well, but I read somewhere you're supposed to replace those blue collars each time......can't see why you'd do that, anyone here ever done it? All good fun and games. Will be much quicker next time!
yes the collars is a bugger to work out first time especially the one under the tank. The tank has been off loads of time and never replace the collar.
