Hi to all. New to the forum. Can anyone advise if I will need to get my 08 blade mapped since fitting a Remus hyper cone end can? Was told this would be ok to fit with no need to get this done. Any opinions expressed would be much appreciated to give me piece of mind. Cheers.
No for a start its a remus ie they dont go mental they make basically road bike exhausts and secondly you only have an end can which will be tuned for the road so no map needed. You could go and get it mapped along with a custom map which will give you better fuelling but unless your flush with coin then dont bother just take the baffle out and annoy the world with noise
I have mad many bikes that I've fitted a end can and run for years without a issue with no remap. I only had mine mapped when I had a R77 Yoshi fitted as I had a K&N fitted and Bazza fitted with adjustable maps
Mine came with an Akrapovics end can and standard map. It made the fueling around town a bit snatchy, but otherwise I never noticed the difference. Not that much noisier, if I recall. Perhaps I'll put it back on to compare now I know the bike better in factory rig.
Anothet question to you guys if you can answer. I noticed a pinking noise the other day when I am in say top gear and sitting at around 45-50 mph and I open throttle up I hear this pinking noise...is this just that the bike is underload and not in correct gear or do think that timing may have an issue? pinking noise? under load the bike will sound funny especially at ultra low rpm but you should never be that low in the rev range unless you are on a crosser lol. Unless its a pure mechanical knock that is really bad which you would hear at any rpm it shouldn't be a concern. But if you are truly worried take it to a trusted bike garage and have a quick word with the mechanic. Maybe even ask him to take it a blast and see what he thinks because at the end of the day with out physically seeing the bike none of us on-line can truly say what it is. Im confident in the fact you are worried for no reason tho Get it singing to the red line and worry less hahaha
