I think that was the point being made. I made this point about cameras earlier this week.... You might as well write the points onto your licence yourself. Undefendable in court... We all like to stretch our legs, If you want to do it, just do it, safely, but don't record it and certainly don't stick it in the public domain. Plus, if I was the dealer who allowed the test ride and I saw it, that person wouldn't be getting another test ride...
I expect that dealer helped in locating the guy as the police would know they had records. But yes, I don't think he'll be getting anymore free rides. But here we go again....., 9 months in jail? really not fitting for the crime. I could bang this drum again but they clearly made an example of him, and I honestly wouldn't care if the guy who knicked your bike and spanked it over 3 counties without a licence or insurance got the same. What the papers don't report tho is any previous convictions taken into account. If the biker had already been disq previously or received a suspended sentence or served a sentence for same then its taken into account, bit like drink driving....if you keep getting caught the punishment will rise. So perhaps the nobchops in the car had clean record & biker didn't rather than it being bias.
