    Hello all,

I recently had an off on my blade which involved removing the front end and rebuilding. Luckily my forks did not bend at all. Nonetheless I set them to the softest settings to check full range of motion and to see if full range of motion caused any fork seal leaks. Everything is ok with them so I have rebuilt the bike. The bike is still on the softest suspension settings.... Not nice.

My question is, does anyone have a benchmark setting I could dial into the forks and rear suspension? Ideally the setting would be for fast road use ( I do the occasional track day at Knockhill but I primarily use the bike on the road).

The reason I ask is that I kept the settings from the previous owner, I think it was standard settings, then I had a play with the setting last time I was at knockhill. However once I returned to the roads the bike was just skipping over the bumps on the road mid corner rather than coping with them.

It would be good if I could get some guidance on a good benchmark setting as used by someone else then I could work from that point. I weight about 73-75kg without gear so I would imagine about 80-83kg in full gear.

Anyway, any help on this would be greatly appreciated as this is the last step of my rebuild (which has left me totally skint) and I am looking forward to getting back on the roads.

    Cheers,

    Danny

I'm around your weight, I went for stock settings minus one turn on front preload, works well for me.hope this helps
    Front:
    preload - 7 turns in
comp - 2 turns out aligned with punch mark
    rebound - 2 turns out

Thanks for that. I’m a complete novice when it comes to suspension setting so sorry if this is a stupid question.

When you say turns “in” “out” is that from full soft or full hard setting?

So is “in” from say the softest setting and “out” from the hardest point?

    Cheers

Sorry should have been clearer. hope this is better.
    04/05
    FRONT SUSPENSION:

Spring preload-Adjust the preload adjuster on the fork leg with a 22mm spanner by turning it counter clockwise until it lightly seats.Thereafter, turn it clockwise 7 turns.

Rebound damping- Turn the screw adjuster clockwise until it lightly seats, then turn it counter clockwise 2 turns. 2.5 for 06/07

Compression damping- Turn the small screw adjuster on the bottom of the fork leg clockwise until it lightly seats, then turn it counter clockwise approx. 2 turns until the punch mark aligns.

    REAR SUSPENSION.

Rebound damping- turn the screw adjuster on the bottom of the shock clockwise until it lightly seats. Then turn it counter clockwise approx.2 1/2 turns until the punch marks align.

Compression damping- turn the screw adjuster on the remote reservoir clockwise until it lightly seats, then turn it counter clockwise about 9 clicks so that the punch marks align.

Spring preload- The spring preload adjuster is in the standard position in position 4 of the 10 on the collar.
