Well the final round of the season is upon us and I'm all ready for it. Racing in the NL Cup 1000s. Who else is there??
Living by the Kent massive way of thinking.......that practise is for woosies (swap out woosies as required! )
Most of us (Team Army) will be there on the Thursday and then all of us from Friday night. We're just going to dos about of friday when the car trackday is on (and likely recover from hangovers). In garages 9&10 with the army motorsports trailer.
Just packing the van and off to Donington. See you later with Strong Bow Dark fruit in hand (the drink of race weekends )
I finished 17th in the last race. Bit of a lonely one. But still loved it! My starts are good and I try to tag on to the quicker riders but I just see them getting further and further away. I'm probably 3-4 seconds off the next group!
Just seen tykes results too. Awesome... Got stronger and stronger as weekend went on and just missed podium last race. Fair play mate. Brilliant riding
I've just got to push myself more. I didn't managed to get down to the other paddock to see tyke. What class is he in? Obviously flying if just off the podium.
I had a mega weekend even though our results weren't all that great. Got on track with James Ellison on the Thursday and even overtook him (the fact he had slowed to wait for someone is irrelevant, lol) and a chat with James Ripsoli as they were both in the garage next door. Bumped into Silvan Guintolli on the car track day on Friday. We also had our mate - British Super sport Evo rider Sam Cox in the garage with us all weekend and most of Team Army will be at BSB Brands next weekend to support him. One our guys was punted off in qualifying and broke his leg , the bikes okay though . My times improved drastically throughout the weekend and for once I think I was overtaking more people than were overtaking me in the Endurance race. Finally; My team won a trip to Cartagena for 4 days on track, bike transport and hotel in January
Nice one IG - you do the solos too? So what's the plans next season?? NL now you all know it smokes hottrax ha ha
Oh yeah forgot to say I won a euro track day. But because I was at go karting sat night instead of at the track I didn't win
I was planning on doing some sprints today but because Loz is played up in hospital with a broken leg I drove his car & caravan to Bradford and was then brought back to Donny by Spence. Moggy did some sprints today and got a 6th in the 600s. As for next year, nothing is confirmed yet but; we'll be at NLR as Team Army Endurance Racing and will have 4-5 teams. One of my team mates has said he won't be racing next year so we'll be a 2 man 600 open team with other teams being a 'Veterans' open 1000 with serving soldiers Rookie 600, and 1 or 2 open 1000 teams but that depends on a few factors.
Gutted; I remember that happening but they are strict on the rules. You have to be present to win the prize.
