Its looking more and more likely I'll be doing a full season in the NL cup 1000s next year. Yet to sign up for membership but enjoyed 2 rounds with them this year.

Started buying all sorts of goodies for the blade.

What is everyone else's plans? Will I get to race any if you next year?

Not as fast as i had planned round oulton mate but was able to run regular 1:48's with my best being 1:47.4

I think its going to be a little tricky going much quicker in March but all depends on the weather but i need to concentrate on getting up to pace at other tracks like Brands, Snett and Anglesea...

What's it cost you guys to do a season at NL out of interest?

Not done a full season with NLR yet but any club will be about the same. Sky's the limit on budget. Including the van bike and full season I spent 24k in my first year. But I would budget about a grand per round if you want to do it right.

24k! Wow. 1k per round dosent seem too bad though. And I'm guessing a basic specced blade would be fine in the 1000cc newcomers?

Cup and endurance for me.... Going to try and actually do a full season instead of the shit year I had last year:(

Grand a round about right.... Some less but some more....

£24k!?? Wtf mark.... That crash damage lol

I raced a proper standard blade in newcomers mate, just a quickshifter and MC, was ok, but tbh as I've upgraded the bike it's definitely improved.

Don't be fooled by newcomers though, the no limits is proper rapid and in the two half seasons I've done seen some very competitive times.

Matt should win it next year though with his 1.47's ;)

Yeah to be fair all classes the front lads are doing similar times. Some newcomers are fully sponsored up on 20k equipment. Decent suspension setup and tyres is the key

I dont mean factory sponsored but some people have a lot of help. A lot use their own businesses tbh. It certainly isn't a poor man's hobby

Getting used to the GSXR for a start and then a mis of rounds with Darley Moor, Tonfanau and aiming to do more roads this year, so hopefully Cookstown, Oliver's Mount, Southern 100 and possibly Armoy. Manx GP would be nice, but it is a big financial commitment so going to save this for 2017.

No bought a 2012 600 which has been set up for the roads. I did look at a getting a 1000, but I have so enjoyed the 600 and I can race in more classes with it too (600s and the open class). Plus for the Manx GP, 1000s are not allowed.

Cheers Jimbo! I will let you know how I get on with it. It seemed to do well at the Manx and lapped at 116mph, so not bad for a totally stock motor. I just want to get out and try it!!
