    One of the things I take from my relationship with his legacy wasn't so much that it was ok to dare to be different Even in my early teens when I first got into his stuff I had already defiantly come to that conclusion, but that it was 'ok' to be ok with those who dared to be different.

    Because as a stupid pup, I was all knee jerk reaction to those who dared to not be just like me and the other adolescent sheep surrounding me at the that formative time. I give the man credit for being odd, weird, contrary and gay as a box of frogs but still convincing me to listen to his stuff and nurturing my tolerance in his favour, and then, by extension to everyone else that wasn't like me.

    Not many role models do that any more.

    See Kanye convincing us that total twats are worthwhile people too.
