Just read his new book and he confirmed in there that he's pissed off with the TT (too much interest and commitment for him) and NW200 (too many chicanes slowing things down) and that the Scarborough Spring Cup and the Cookstown 100 are among his favourite races. Not a surprise really.

I read his most recent biography and he seemed to be a bit disillusioned with the high profile road races. He loves his mountain biking though and I think he's one of those characters that needs to be pursuing different challenges to keep himself motivated. Hope it doesn't signal the end for him racing at the big roads events.

Means I'll have to support hutchy round the tt instead them! More likely to get a win though ;)

Looks like his ambition of winning a race at the TT, particularly the Senior, is slipping away. So many really fast men now, and missing this year won't make it any easier next time.

Dont blame him for getting out, as someone said some real young fast lads coming up and still some oldies. He has had a few big offs on the roads and been very lucky with them.

Get some tv cash raked in and sit back in 4-5 years do what you like/love.

Can bare the bloke but hed be ok in CBB or the jungle :D:D:D:D

No surprise really , he's hinted on this for a quite a while now. He's not got a TT win in him in my opinion. He's had good chances on good machinery and his share of bad luck as well. Good luck to him but can't see him racing bikes any time soon.
