does anyone know if it is cheaper to replace knackered gearbox internals, or just buy a box? or is it better to buy a different box anyway?

single gears are about 100 quid, upto about 140-150 for the double cogged gears.depending on what's gone with yours will determine whats thebest route, but if its only 1 or 2 gears, with everything else being ok then that's your best route I'd guess.

I have a complete box for spares,it's just being checked to make sure it'sall ok,what you after? (0:cool:

it's pretty much a complete box except for the input shaft, all gears, selectors etc are there,it was taken out of my bike when the hrc was put in,but this was before I got the bike,so my engine guy is going to look it over to make sure it's ok before I do anything with it.

I wish I had one in my bike. Couldn't afford it so I found a used gearbox on eBay:(

You can get individual gears from them though. Is it 3rd + 4th gear that's common for getting chewed up? I think those are the gears that went on mine.

Sorry to jump on the thread but how much of a job would it be to replace 3rd with a nova before the original goes? Or is it a specialist type job?

Not bad at all. Just make sure you line up all the parts as they come off the gearbox.
