General consensus is that the Michelin PR4 or Metzeler M7RR are the best road tyres.
Do a forum search, loads and loads of info on tyres.

probably best to ask "which tyres to avoid?"

I use Metzeler Z8interact, swear by them, best because of wet grip and seem to last many thousands in the dry

It's hard to decide as they have their different merits I.e track or road conditions. I'm after an all rounder...grippy when your tearing up some Tarmac and long lasting when commuting.

Just checked out the prices of the Metzeler and they are £50 cheaper than the PR4....Metzeler not a make I'm familiar with though.

Metzlers are great tyres as are as good as Michelins, pirelli and dunlops (dependant on use). German made and are part of the Pirelli group with loads of current racing pedigree (especially real road racing).

I use the Racetch Slick on track and they are amazing, last for an age, grip like shit to a shovel and when they do let go they do it gradually so you can control the slide (not that I'm capable of doing this on purpose).

Watched some reviews...revzilla rate the Metzeler pretty well...looking at Murraymint's post has just confused me more...I know it's down to individual opinion and tried and tested personal experience of a tyre so I guess biting the bullet is the answer and see how it goes. I'm torn between the Metzeler & PR4...although Dunlop are well rated too...phew tough.

The video on the mcn sport touring tyre review said that there all brilliant tyres and you'll be happy with which ever one you pick.

    Here's the link

I was gunna buy pr4s but after watching this and reading the article I went for the Bridgestone battlax t30 evo's

I believe Dulop are bringing out some more Road Smarts. They may already be available. Might be worth checking out. I have been using Pirelli RC. Very good.

Currently got Pirelli Diablo Corsa 3 on and they are certainly not bad. Not great...but not bad.

Still like Supercorsa's. Not great in the wet but they will never be out in the wet unless I get caught out.

I've been on Pilot Power 2CT's constantly for the last 7 years or so. R1 and 2 Blades. They are a fantastic tyre and transformed the Blade once I got rid of the standard qualifiers. I've used them all year round in all weathers.

I've only just gone on to PR4's due to the fact that I've now lost my company bike and I now have to pay for my own tyres. The reviews on the PR4's were all sound for road use. I do like to use my tyre edge to edge to get my money's worth:D, and the PR4's are letting me ride exactly the same as my 2CT's, just got to get used to them. The mileage return was what really did it for me. Twice the mileage of the 2CT but no where near twice the price.

If it has 2CT's on it already you'll not be disappointed. Great tyre.

They were only released last month, so in these temps aren't going to excel.

I've used them back to back with Metzler M7 and there is nothing in it tbh.
