They've got a bit of a hole in the fueling under 4000rpm from stock anyway. Maybe the pipe is slightly emphasising that hole a little bit.

Not been on mine yet, been freezing or soaking.
The graph in the Akra website looks smooth.

Smooth accelerating through gears , it's when I stay in same gear having to keep to a 30-40 mph limit under 4000rpm that's when I notice it

Hi chaps, not been on for a wee while due to personal reasons but I've had the akro on for a while now. Wouldn't say its any rougher at low revs just sounds it. It does surge a little on the overrun and hunts for revs at idle but no probs with that. At low revs it sounds like a race bike on its pit lane speed limiter which to be honest so did my ZX10R with Akros on. Man its loud though. Bought a baffle for track days but also bought track day RR5 so don't need the baffle (unless plod nick me) as wont be using SP for tracks. Just bought some R&G rear sets to go on and that'll be it for modding at the moment. Plan to take pipe and rearsets off before swapping it when time comes (3 year pcp deal).

I have to say again that in my opinion the Akra is the loudest pipe I have heard on a road bike.
Like you say it does sound like it is on a limiter at low revs, was just thinking that yesterday.
When there are walls or trees the sound just resonates, I am sure it would wake the dead.

I was tempted to get a baffle but not sure if it actually makes much difference from what I have heard.

I don't mind sporty loud but this really is silly loud, people shit themselves when you suddenly scream past them !

Hee hee you're right there. My brothers got a new ART can on his Fazer thou and I thought that was loud but the Blade drowns that out. I always wear earplugs so didn't really appreciate what people are on about until I put the bike away!

I tested a GSXR1000 and 750 at the weekend at the Suzuki test ride event, the bikes were the ones with the Yoshimura pipe on. After jumping off my blade with the Akra and jumping on the Gixer's, I have to say, mines is way louder! I wear ear plugs too when riding and so its difficult to tell in isolation how loud it is, but with ear plugs out and on the Gixer, both were a good bit quieter.

It doesn't bother me too much as you sound like McGuiness on full chant when hounding it past someone, though I think I'll get the baffle and try it, see if it makes it that wee bit quieter :)
