Hi all, I'm from Preston, Lancs and this weekend am swapping my trusty old (1999) CBR600F for a Fireblade SP. Quite an upgrade, even though I do like my 600 a lot. Test rode a blade a few weeks back and thought it was epic fun so can't wait to get it Been checking out a few accessories so will probably be reading up and a few questions about them, mainly how do you buy them without taking out a second mortgage, what is it with accessory pricing on these bikes?!?! Nice to meet you all
Oops I forgot to revisit this thread. Thanks for all the hello's and comments folks. Loving the bike. Even running it in it's crazy quick! Got my eye on a quickshifter for it, thinking HM. Anyone know where I can get it fitted? I don't want to take my new bike apart myself just yet - too new!
The dealer you bought your honda from is a good place to get new bits fitted - I know it's a bit late now but every time I've bought a bike I've always shown up with a list of things I wanted fitted. You have to pay for the parts but usually they'll throw in fitting for free to encourage a sale. I can recommend a power bronze double bubble screen (although '14-on you'll have to drill out the top 4 mounting holes on the screen to 10mm). Also if you get crash bungs; get the no-drill ones otherwise you have to undo them every time to take the fairings off. I got my blade 2nd hand the fairings were already drilled, minor annoyance.
Lovely bike, bought one myself a month ago. I kept my RR5 is for commuting and trackdays, the SP is for A & B roads fun. You will love it!
