new here this is my second post. I've owned a few bikes over the years and tend to keep a them a while as I find it takes me a long time to really gel with a bike , the blade is great But for some reason I think I am going to sell it it soon ,only had it 6 week. No idea why lol How do you guys rate the blade compared to other bikes? I had a Big Bang r1 previously which was harder to ride but I am thinking of buying another.
I felt exactly the same with my sp a few weeks in and couldn't understand why, but I stuck with it and now love it.
I find them awesome,2009, really comfy for hundreds on smiles a day, very useable power and speed, smooth handling,,what else could you ask for?
Hi Paul, are you giving it enough time? you say you take a long time to gel with a bike but you've only given the blade 6 weeks? I've been riding blades for over 6 years now (had 2) and I love them. Tried a few others (2) - Yamaha r1 big bang and S1000RR. The BMW was all top end power, I found it didn't turn as good as the blade and also has some reliability issues (I hear). The Yam R1 is quite a similar bike to the S1000RR - top end and harder to turn (for me). I genuinely believe the blade is the best 1ltr street bike you can get. Forgiving, reasonably comfortable, enough power for street...... But hey its your money if your not happy with the bike then my advice would be to get rid. A happy rider is a safe rider!
I have a 13 plate Blade and came from a Big Bang R1. It took me 20 miles to gel with the blade. As you say the R1 was bloody hard work to ride and didn't enjoy it at all. Everything about the blade is smooth and simple. Some people say they are a boring bike, no way. My only complaint is the front brake. Too much travel in the lever and I'm sitting it the weekend with a set of lines and a Brembo RCS.
Felt the same ... a few months in and now two years later I love it ... so effortless to ride quickly
Had my blade 2 and a half years now. I must admit it took me a good while to gel with it. Found the standard pegs a little cramped for me so I've fitted some rearsets and that's cured the problem (although I did try them in 3 different positions until I was 100% happy with them). I've had the seat upholstered with more padding and is now around 10mm taller than standard, much better. Also rotated the levers so am not arcing my wrists to much. Now its just as comfortable to ride as my old K8 GSXR was
