I've recently fitted an underslung rear calliper bracket ( FP Racing) & using the standard rear caliper to my 2012 fireblade and thought I'd post the results.

It was fairly straght forward to fit, though you do need to purchase a longer brake hose. The instructions supplied with the bracket were very detailed and left nothing to question. Looking at the finished kit, I'm not that sure the longer hose is required as there is quite a bit of length near the master cylinder.

Looks lovely, not much use to me as the road crap would ruin that caliper in a Sunday ride in December!!

Does the bracket not fall out when changing wheels then?

it definately makes taking the rear wheel out a lot quicker but the calliper is still 'loose' meaning that it can still fall out. Putting the wheel back in can either be really quick or a real chore, depending on how lucky I am.

To try to get around the loose calliper issue, have a look at Mike Edwards' tips here - he drills through the chain adjuster ( part that moves when adjusting the chain) into the calliper bracket, then screws them together.

@arthurbikemad - That's a nice disc and not too pricey either. Shame I've recently bought a s/hand wavey rotor.

@Alex - Here is a photo of the hose

I have had the FP Racing bracket and upgraded to the Brembo. The HRC Spindle uses a sleeve to stop the caliper bracket falling out.
