Found it too much about the weather and not enough about the bike.
Threequarters in I'd had enough so he may have summarised at the end and I missed it.

I was surprised when he said it was the first of the Big Four Japanese motorcycle manufacturers that he had used on his World's Best Motorcycle Rides series .

I think his only complaint was that with the bike was a bit tall for him. But he has had a KTM Adventure in South Africa, and at least two other KTMs that I remember - one in Germany and the other in Scandinavia - KTMs are mostly tall bikes - he also used a BMW GS in Russia

Anyway, must remember not to go to Scotland in August !

Yes I agree...it was very bike 'light'
Shame he didn't take it off road etc. I've always thought the series could do with more bike info input as I presume main audience is bikers.

Yep I was surprised at him having issues with the height. I tried one with the standard seat & it was just right & it has a lower setting I'm sure! Maybe he'd shrunk a little in all that rain :D

I can't believe he kept banging on about seat height when he had it on the highest setting.
If he'd popped seat off he could of dropped it to the lower setting.

Might recreate the show my way...lots of bike and no Scotland....well its too far, lol

I was speaking to the guy who does the Africa Twin off-road experience at the Bike show yesterday. I'm not only seriously thinking of getting an AT (my local dealer has a well specced secondhand DCT) but also thinking of doing the off-road experience.
The only thing I'm worried about is do they have the famous Honda "blandness".

I had a funny conversation with a couple of old boys whilst looking at the AT DCT it went something like:

Old boy looking at left hand bar: bloody hell, somebody's messed up there.
    Me: it's not a clutch
    OB: what is it then?
    Me: it's a handbrake
    OB: where's the clutch then?
Me: it doesn't have one, it automatic. Look there's no gearchange.
OB looking over the seat: oh have they put it over there
Me: no that's still the back brake
OB: have they combined the front and back brake then?
Me: no that's still the front brake over there
OB: that's got me all confused, I won't be buying one of those.

I could image Henry Cole's moaning if he was riding through London with all the non-stop traffic lights,
speed humps & the 20mph speed restrictions in many of the boroughs.
The Scottish Highlands is one of the most beautiful places to see in Europe. Rain or shine.
    It goes with the territory.

Hmm tricky to answer this honestly!

I have to admit after the blade i was not overly wowed! Great balance and handling but a twin after a Four is errrr!
I don't think I can answer this without being biased now, Im having a lot of fun on her now and even a giggle in the british muck roads.

Having said that, if i won the lottery tomorrow I would have a blade too!
