    Reminds me of my VFR with the indicator switch below the horn - which was not ideal, even when you eventually get used to it.

    Not tried it on the new Fireblade, but was not a fan of the arrangement on the Viffer.

    Is the black one the standard one ?
    Noticed it had the Showa suspension.
    Think I will be trading for one of those bad boys.

    Yes the matt black is the standard one. It did have some extras fitted such as Akra, lever guards, etc.

    Lovely.
    That will be the chap for me.
    Would just get some engine case covers to cover up that horrible goldy colour.
    Hopefully it will be within my price range.

    hmmmm yes that looks like a minor issue. I can imagine there will be a lot of people pipping their horn when trying to cancel an indicator.

    With the VFR I found:

    • In the UK - going round a roundabout the left handlebar rises above the horizontal - and makes the indicator switch much easier to reach
    • Continental riding - going round a roundabout the left handlebar drops below horizontal making it a bit more awkward to reach the indicator switch.

    No biggie, just different and got used to it !

    Good job I don't have winkers and rely on good old fashioned arm waving so I don't have any of them issues! And mine self cancel too

    Got this exact switchgear on the CRF1000, it was a bloody nightmare at start hitting the horn all the time and not finding indicator readily in dark.
    Also I hope they sort out the notorious sticky set button...mine is going in for a warranty claim next week...a Known (unofficial of course) problem!

    I don't want to bore people about the indicator switch but .....!

    In its defence it is the last button, and is not set in between buttons that you have to try and find - it is the last thing in the line.

    All I did was aim for the big space below where there is nothing ! and move the thumb up and the indicator is the first switch you come across ! rather than try and work you way down the switches until you find it.

    That is all, I found it easier that way and then rarely made any accidental pips on the horn.

    Just got back from the NEC... The SP's are gorgeous, the standard model didn't blow me away. Will have to see how it rides, I do hope that £14.5k is wrong. GSXR1000 and zx10 were the standouts for me, very nice indeed. I think the gixxer could turn out to be the #1 bike of 2017.

    £14.5k doesn't sound too bad, it puts it in a new current model SP territory. Still a bit steep for me, either way. My 2012 model is sitting in my garage fully paid for. Do I really need to get into debt again for a bike that is far better than my capabilities? Saturday will tell, but I doubt it.

    Some of us have an extra item to worry about, luckily you blade owners won't have this problem....or will you?? lol

    I think 14.5 would have been about right as well as that's where the big bikes are all starting from now... I just can't help thinking the standard bike has stopped a little bit short. Would have liked a full ground up new bike. Did give me the feeling of an update rather than new bike. We shall see, hope I'm wrong.

    Same situation Kevin. Bike fully paid for is a sweet feeling, but those new SPs are so tempting.
