So Rosberg wins & retires 'at the top'.

No defence of his title, a bit like Our Nige or a struggle like Damon.

But now Nico has left, who do you think will get the drive of their life?

I'd love to see Alonso but can't see McLaren letting him go. Bottas??

There isn't many drivers available at the moment. Perez has just re-signed and so choices are limited.

Like you Alonso or Vettel would be great. Someone who can take the fight to Lewis a bit. Other than the two mentioned not too bothered really.

Alonso and Hamilton aren't a good mix, they've tried it before.
I reckon Mercedes should take a punt with Wehrlein or Ocon

It needs to be a fairly youthful guy, ideally Vestapen or perhaps Botas who in the right car, I think could be world champion.

Don't think many drivers are free due to contracts and can't see Mercedes wanting to pay to release one of the big guys to replace Rosberg

Let's face it Mercedes know that have the title winning driver and car with Hamilton, they just need someone quick enough to score good points for them to retain constructors title

Bring Jenson back for a season and he can finish his career with style.

BBC news has just said Merc are interested in signing Alonso. Wonder if someone knew about Nico's intention to retire that's why McLaren took the unusual step of keeping Button on a retainer?? McLaren could loose both drivers in before the start of the season, which would be a massive upheaval, especially as their in the process of building a completely new car.

I'd like to see Jensen Button go to Mercedes. Not very likely but I find it interesting that he announces publicly that he's retiring altogether, it was just supposed to be a sabbatical when it was announced a few months ago. Then, we have Rosberg announcing his retirement after Button, just to make sure Button doesn't get the drive. I think the paddock knew about Rosberg but they were making sure Button wouldn't get the drive for whatever reason.

Sorry guys, just got back from my honeymoon and playing catch up. Bottas looks to be the man Mercedes want. Wolff is part of his management team and he won't rock the boat.
I think Bottas is a good driver. He's a clean fighter and would score decent points with them. Is he World Champion material, who can say.

Like some of you, I'd love to see Jenson in the car though, but perhaps he's had his day, and I think he'd be out raced by Hamilton personlly.
