Has anyone changed the colour of their bike?

If so was it an easy process to change it at DVLA? Did it impact massively on insurance??

I'm thinking of getting my primarily white tricolour blade re-sprayed to a black MotoGP colour scheme.

dead easy with dvla ,i have changed several monkey bike colour schemes on one bike. as for the insurance it is just a case of asking them ,as some insurers will class it as a modification and refuse to insure it.. others will not give a hoot.

I think the only way is via post. I had to change my V5 so they were accepting only the original document.
There must be a section which explains what you have to do..

all you have to do is send the original v5 in as greco says. It would be no good if there were 2 v5s in circulation with different details.

I've done it a few years back - as above you just need fill in the V5 and send it back. The colour change will show if someone does an HPI check.

Is it worth sourcing another set of fairings and getting those painted? A custom painted bike will probably be worth less to a Dealer if you decide to sell it at a later date.

Leave it standard, HRC is the best colour :)

I have a second set of fairings Im planning to get reprayed so I always have the originals for resale.
I was going to see if I could put 'multicoloured' like the mot tester put on my certificate

Yes you can. I have done it on mine as my blade is in repsol colours. I would say go with whatever colour you think is more reasonable. Multicoloured for me was the obvious choice.
