If the Brembo HPK discs are the same diameter as standard, what makes them so much better than standard discs?

Are they made of a different material?

T Drives are the best and are also thicker than standard, 5.5mm I think from memory.

Better quality material and usually lighter than standard discs!

Why does being thicker material make them better?

Last longer and less likely to warp

Surely that depends on minimum spec thickness?

Interested as I've just bought Brembo Oro discs.

5.5mm on the T Drives not sure about the Oro series, I do know that exrta .5mm does add some weight to the rotating mass.

Brembo Serie Oro discs are a direct replacement for standard discs although they're described as being an "upgrade". T-Drives are are derived from experience gained in WSB and MotoGP and are at their best on track although they are road legal. Why anyone would use them on the road though is beyond me!
The new T pins apparently transfer braking torque more efficiently and are less prone to warping due to their ability to allow the disc to "float" more freely than the bushing system.
I have them on my 05 track blade and coupled with the Brembo master cylinder, give me two fingered braking to the point where I could easily take a trip over the bars if I so desired!:eek::eek:

    Nicely written. :)

I went for Oro series off a road race bike ... if they are good enough for the TT they are good enough for me on the road with the occasional track day.

Saying that nothing wrong with the OE discs ...

The bobbins on the OEM are super tight. With all the gunk on the road they seize up and are prone to warping. Been using the Oros for a while now and not needed to clean up the bobbins so much better

No issues on mine and gets ridden through winter doing 200-300 miles a week.

I'm only changing them as I'm a Brembo whore. :D
