Hi all I'm new to the forum and own a 2010 cbr1000rra but having problem with it at moment and be grateful for any help. My bike is cutting out for no apparent reason, no warning signs just goes dead while riding or waiting at lights. Tends to do it after approx 20miles. Will start up straight away if I flick kill switch on then off again but engine won't turn over if I leave kill switch alone and try starting it. Has anyone had a similar problem who can help me. Seems to me its to do with kill switch but could b barking up wrong tree!!!!!!

Could be the map sensor circuit! I had a similar problem recently but fortunately I have a different dash which tells me the error! You need to see what error pattern you're getting on the red warning light

It will flash in a certain pattern if something is wrong, I'd film it and look it up

Sound like a relay fault, if the coil cannot hold the contacts closed, by recycling the kill switch it is getting reset, I would not have thought that an engine sensor would inhibit the starter, as the kill switch will stop the fuel pump a faulty relay would cause the cut out.

It would also be worth cleaning the kill switch contacts or at least give it a squirt with WD40. IMG_4034.PNG

Cheers mate. No joy yet sick to death of it checked battery and relays changing kill switch tomorrow then gonna try again! Failing that I have a crank sensor ordered so will try that nxt... totally at a loss!!! Spoke to technician at Newcastle motorcycles who hadn't heard of this fault before and fact no fault codes showing on diagnostic makes it even more difficult!!!!!
