Personal or multi vehicle breakdown

    With a few bikes and car I'm wondering what's the best option for breakdown cover UK & European. Looking online it seems it's either for car or bike but not both. Does anyone have any recommendations? I did use to join M.A.G solely for the discounted breakdown which you could re-use each year without rejoining but I think they have stopped that.

    I joined rac which covers me as a driver or passenger of any vehicle. £100 or so per year.

    Have a look on Green Flag mate. They tend to insure you whatever vehicle you are driving under one policy. Well, this is what i have so no problems so far.

    You are correct providing you have personal cover, but t be fair personal cover with Green Flag is still usually cheaper than basic cover with the remainder. I have been with GF for years and never had an issue.

    The other ones worth looking at are Europe Assistance http://www.europ-assistance.com/en and Brittania Rescue which appears to be through LV insurance these days but open to all https://www.britanniarescue.com/

    I have AA cover through my bank account as an account benefit (platinum account Lloyds bank) well worth checking to see if your bank offers similar for the monthly fee

    have used it for both bike and car before with no problems

    Called them to help fix a puncture on my previous bike with no problems.

    Throttle cable snapped on my old 650gs came out and repaired and got me on my way

    alternator went in my old car and replaced at side of the road for just the cost of the part which turned out cheaper than taking to a garage and having new fitted there as cost for part only

    With Barclays and get RAC cover, got a puncture on my bike and in under 17 min from when I called to riding away !!

    RAC personal cover for years here good for car etc for bikes they used to have a fleet for bikers now they don't have them contracors recently I had to call them and I was asked towait 3 hours before someone could even come and it was another 2 hours before they could tow me to my home which is only 5 miles away

    these days rac is only good for puncture repair or they tow it away with contractor which is pain.

    Yeah I have AA too, personal cover as driver, rider or passenger, it covers me anywhere in uk

    I use GEM which is a personal cover: the vehicle I am in (or on) is covered. Good reviews (autoexpress) and price but fortunately not needed them in the past 3 years
