Got a bit drunk in front of the computer last weekend resulting in me getting my credit card out and ordering a few bits and pieces for the bike. Got a sprocket/chain kit from B&C but as usual the chain comes covered in grease.
In the past, I've cleaned most of it off with WD40 but think now this maybe isn't the best idea.
Will a good chain cleaner be as good or does it need something more heavy duty. Don't really want to use paraffin as it's a bugger to get rid of.
    Cheers;)
P.S. Also any ideas how I tell the wife before my credit card statement arrives:rolleyes:

Milky you're gonna' get flamed by the anus police for not searching first mate, there are loads of chain cleaning threads on here already, good ones too. Have a look then deny all knowledge of being here.

    I was never here, okay?

    think you've got problems?
when i mentioned i wanted another bike mrs. blaggers went off on one. suppose it's understandable as the last 'off' i had was close to killing me. got away with muliple broken hip, snapped thumb, but worse.......trashed 748sp. anyhow, knowing she was dead against it, decided not to mention it again, but had to try explain when she came home and 'spotted' the big fook off metal 'tool' shed bolted proudly to the floor smack bang in front of the kitchen window.
she was gobsmacked and speechless. this i know, cos she didn't speak to me for almost a week. ah, bliss. actually, might buy another.......

It is truly better to ask forgiveness than permission.

By the way Milky, love the avatar, Smith and Schaffer rule.

    Good save.

I would also have accepted: 'my search button won't work but...'

    Or

'I've read all the chain cleaning threads and you're all talking bollocks'. The latter would guarantee to have them all fall over themselves to repost.

Milky as said a few thread about cleaning your chain,

re the how to tell the wife. Don't just boked for a Bazzaz to be fitted on the first service, dyno time, better filter, +service and told the wife it would be about £200 [IMG] she said how much.

Just been saving cash so when it comes to putting on the card it will only show say just over £200 [IMG]

This thread should take a title from one of Paul Simon's songs ie. '50 ways to Leave your Lover' or more aptly entitled '50 Ways To Hide Funds From Your lover'

I like what I'm reading, gents, I'm already concocting a cunning plan for my next purchase based on your advice!

I'm liking what I'm reading here lads. This kind of advice and fraternal spirit is testament to what were building on this site.

And it's inspired me to find a way of proving to Jeanette that, by law, she needs heated handlebar grips for her 206.

Suppose I could dig in to my 'Gentlemans Dancing Club' fund (we've all got one, haven't we?) and soften her up with a bottle of Blue Nun and a box of Milk Tray?
