    hi
    Just after abit advice

This morning i went to go out for a ride after the bike being parked up for about a week n half, 1st my battery was flat so gave it a little charge which went fine, started bike up n warmed it up before going out but was only out for bout half n hour and i lost power to the bike and the oil lght came on along with the hiss light for jus a second the had full power back again. This happened 3 times so headed back home rather than getting stranded.

    Any Ideas ????
    Many thanks in advance

Was the battery flat again after the ride ?
Could be knackered battery and or Rectifier and possibly stator

A relatively new battery shouldn't be flat after being parked up for only a week & a half. I bought a new one a while ago & it started playing up v quickly...they swapped it for another one which was fine. You can get duff ones..

I agree Lozzy if there's no alarm fitted the battery should be fine for months, so I certainly would not rule out a suspect battery

Which model year is it? Have you checked the battery voltage with, ignition off and at 3 a 6k revs? What are the results?

How many miles has it? Has the stator been replaced,? It's unusual for the reg/rec to go since the 2004 bikes.

Doing some basic checks may help stop you breaking down at the side of the road, rather than keeping an eye on it!! ;-)

No haven't got a voltage meter but will invest in one

The stator was the weak point on 04/05 blades, an easy quick check for now is to look at the headlight and see if brightens a bit when a few rev's are applied - you should be able to see a difference from idle.

My 04 blade had at least 3 stators, first time I got it rewound, then discovered Honda did a revised one under warranty, but even that one went again after another 30k. Alas they are not cheap, much will depend on how much you use the bike, and how long you intend to keep it.

Have a search on here about stators, you will find lots of info.

Check all your connections are tight first, check the engine earth hasn't corroded, then I'd start checking stator and regulator

I just had a battery on mine, went out 70 miles or so, came home. Later went to put away and dead as a dodo. Not a sigh of power anywhere. New battery all fine. Obviously maybe something else on yours as discussed however is your battery a genuine OEM?
    Regards
