Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has the installation instructions for a 2014 seat cowl? I have bought a Chinese seat cowl from eBay which has no padding, so just wondering where I need to stick some rubber pads to stop it rubbing the paint off.

    Any help would-be appreciated

    Chris.

My OE Honda seat cowl had no additional padding but I have put some thin rubber strips on the front edge

Here is a scan of the instructions. Some of the Chinese cowls are a snug fit so may not require too much padding.

My OE came with padding and it’s mentioned in the instructions The padding doesn’t go on the cowl it goes on the tailpiece.

No padding on either! Explains a lot....cheers for that...I thought there was something wrong with the locking system to make it move so much! Doh!

The cowl still rattles but it can’t come into contact with the tailpiece so no damage to the paint.

Mine really rattles tho, it's nowhere near as tight on as others. I'll have a look to see if I can get some rubber from somewhere that'll fix in.

I reckon you could use a oven door seal or UPvC door seal, should be able to get a length of that pretty cheap, double sided sticky tape to stick it down, for the back part just fit the cowl and slide a bit of paper underneath, mark it off then cut double sided tape to match the template, stick the tape to the tailpiece and leave the peel off paper on the top top side, sorted
