Hi all, I ride more on track than on the road & after a recent trip to Jerez on my GSXR750 where I kept getting left behind on the straights, I decided it was time for more horsepower. So, I have just bought a (track only) 2008 blade with a lightly breathed on 2011 engine that should be more than quick enough. It has almost all the track mods I need (well, I will be fitting an HM quickshifter & a Brembo Master Cylinder, but everything else is pretty much sorted). I thought I would join the forum for general advice & in case I have any questions. Thanks in advance Keith A
Hi Keith. All the best with it. Can't help with current advice - my track days are over. I'm from the days of the CB 750 K1. One of the racing trends then was to bore out and insert CB 350 pistons, taking the capacity to 820. By the time we did valves and carbs, emptying our pockets in the process, we had a rapid machine. Ran it on pure Methanol too. As we know, legislation ruins most good things!! I'm sure a few on here would have fond memories of those mods.
Nigel, that sounds awesome....I am old enough to remember the CB750! Probably too old to be doing track-days, but hey, a man's got to have a hobby!
And I see many older guys running rings around the young ones. Mine's an '06, but there are plenty of guys on here with the '08-on.
