Can someone identify this?

I've just joined, done my hello and now I'm already after some help

Can someone tell me from the pic:
- what the hell this little lot is
- Can I just undo the rusted bolt to replace it (I've drained the oil)

In case it's not clear from the pic- this is all on the front left of the crank case of a 2008 blade. Probs v familiar looking to lots of you

I've ordered a new bolt for this as it's so rusted (only one on the bike which is weird) but I wanted to check what it is as I've no idea

Oh, and don't be alarmed about the orange condoms... they're just the fingers of some latex gloves to keep my cleaning stuffs out of the water pump and oil cooler... I'm mid 'winter-deep-clean' and service

 

Found it in the manual... it’s to do with the balancer shaft

I've mounted silicone hoses this week and also noticed this rusted bolt! It's really weird that only THIS bolt rust on the bike...
