UPDATE - I have had a very long conversation with Chris on the matter. He apologised for name calling and wanted to work the problem out. He admitted that the parts indeed weren't his, but that he was looking to buy them locally from the mentioned ebay listing and sell me the parts I wanted, reselling the rest with a bit of profit. I see this as a valid way of dealing and making some cash on the side, as long as everyone is happy in the end. I'm sad Chris hasn't said this from the get-go yesterday when we could avoid this whole situation. He did sound like a genuine guy and I wouldn't therefore refrain from dealing with him in the future. Hey guys.. So on an unpleasant note, you might've seen the guy posting about selling loads of parts. Here is my experience and supporting evidence which is beyond any doubt... He is also an active member on this forum, some people reported that they had a positive experience, so maybe he just scams part time. Have a read and make your own mind up. If there is something I hate it's fucking scammers and thieves. They should be branded on their foreheads first offence if you ask me. Here is the story, you can find all the screenshots proving every single word I write here: https://imgur.com/a/KtowF - Dude posted on all forums and sites a long list of parts, saying he has more. I've asked if he's got any fairings to sell - he had. - Asked for a half decent price with some fairings exchange. His description matched a listing on eBay so I've asked - is that your listing? "Yes it is he said" - The deal was part payment, part exchange for some parts I'm selling. He asked me to send them to a different name and address - his friends garage, "he's there all the time working".. .....Well no he isn't, unless he's running a garage from his flat - Google street view - please see the pictures). - I Asked for pictures and he's sent the pictures from the eBay listing. I have asked for more detailed pictures, several times which I never received. - Day later I get a message - "everything is packaged. I sent you the pictures I've had anyway and you've also seen them on eBay" - Repeatedly asked for a payment that is non refundable instead of paypal - Little did he know I have been messaging the eBay guys as well. Guess what? Different person (See signature in screenshots) - I got a message from Chris "everything is packaged and ready" - half an hour later I got a response to ebay message I sent to the owner of the listing Chris was claiming as his. The guys name is Desmond btw.. saying "I would only post this at your risk in bin bags, I don't have any time to box this and I don't have any boxes or packaging materials, I want a collection in person".. - When I've asked for pictures of the packaged items with a piece of paper with my name on it - mysterious buyer appeared and bought the whole kit - I messaged one of the guys responding to his add who already paid him for something (PayPal gift) two weeks ago - allegedly he's forgotten to take it off the bike and is busy with work).. - I've blacked out his bank details as I think it might be an offence to share them publicly. Name is Chris Ebbage, name on this forum he's using is "vic_ster51". The account on this forum has some history, maybe it's been hacked. Admins please read this thoroughly including attached evidence and take appropriate action. You might also be able to trace whether this is a hacked account through an IP log. - I have since received a ton of messages from him on facebook, calling me all sorts of names and ridicules. Whenever I respond "yo, why did you lie about all this stuff?" I get more name calling and ridiculing instead of an answer. Make you own mind up about this after studying the evidence. I could not not post this in good conscience. Don't ever want to see a fellow biker scammed by a low-life. https://imgur.com/a/KtowF
I have bought from Chris several times and fronted him several hundred pounds, i have never been disapointed with the merc or anything else. even threw in a few extras parts once due to late delivery. why does it matter where he wants the items to be sent? i see a garage on that house, impossible for him to work out of that? Oh well.
Hi, as I said, make your own mind up about it, maybe a hacked account idk Only explanation for all the mentioned and documented above is that it is a scam, if you read through it and have another one, I'm happy to be proven wrong. It doesn't matter if it's somewhere else, but if he says it's his friends garage, friend works there all the time and it's in fact a house. There's a tiny garage there but if you look at it its super tiny and the place is not registered as a business. When confronted about all the lies mentioned above he just started calling me names instead of providing a reason. A genuine person would defend themselves, provide reasons and back up what they say, provide reasons. The moment I've asked for proof it is his merch and that he has it - the merch disappeared and no communication. If you ask someone for a picture of merch you're paying 300 for and they send you an eBay listing pictures from a listing that they claim is theirs - which it isn't.. And says he spent couple of hours packaging - but couldn't take a snap for 2sec despise me asking for it several times? Asked why has he used the auction pics and didn't take one - no response. Asked if he can send a pic of what he says is packaged etc. As said there were two people on Fb saying goods turned up. But what I'm describing is an outright scam if you read through it. The other guy buying from him just now is also waiting for two weeks now and just getting excuses. So maybe his account was hacked, idk
Dude. Get a life your annoyed as you didn’t get your bargain parts you begging for at a cheap price. Brand new member trying to get stuff for cheap as possible and facts not all correct. No account been hacked Jesus. This is mine. Come on. Check ip blah. Give me a break We ended up on agreeing PayPal goods anyway so you were safe. Also was £175 not £30 I give people options. Some people pay me straight away who know me. I also do the same back send parts and people pay later. About the part I ‘didnt Send due to forgetting’ which was a £10 part. yeah I did forget I messaged the guy saying this and he was cool with it and now it’s posted. So what your saying totally incorrect I’m not giving excuses. Don’t go shouting off trying to pick on things you don’t no about Bottom line is we had no deal no money exchanged etc so what’s the problem. I was one at risk as you were sending me parts which I had no come back on Never have I took anyone’s money Oh I just paid someone for a radiator via bank transfer oh no a scam lol Just leave it yeah please!
Then maybe Chris instead of attacking me you'd care to explain: - why have you presented someone else's ebay account as your own - why did you send pictures of parts you claimed to be yours when they weren't - why did you use alternative address for delivery, claiming it's friend's garage where he works, when it's a small house - why have you refused to prove ownership of parts in question - why, if you spent hours packaging it could you not take a picture of them - when I repeatedly asked for it - why when asked for a picture of packaged parts at least with my name on it - you avoided it and refused - why when pressed for proof you suddenly didn't have the parts anymore (weren't they wrapped, packaged and in a box?) - why having and attitude instead of providing reasons and evidence to fix the problem? - why pretending to be someone else?
I am surprised vic_ster51 seems to have taken this so well - as illustrated by above comments. I am in a very good position of having purchased parts from Chris Ebbage before (carbon fibre heel plate). The transaction was conducted smoothly and promptly with goods arriving as described. I believe the product was advertised on both Facebook and eBay, but so what? If we elect to sell parts it is our prerogative about where we list them. Many a guy (or gal) on this forum has given members a purchase option before listing on eBay. Further, to add credibility to Chris, I actually short-changed him (in error) with my Pay Pal payment. Chris emailed me to not worry about it. THAT is not the conduct of a scammer. Finally, I have just noted that vic_ster51 has been a member on this forum for over 6 years now. That is one heck of a long time for someone to get away with scamming! Of course I offer 'Appollo' the same respect as a member as I do for vic_ster51. I am merely offering my first-hand experience with a person PUBLICLY NAMED as a scammer.
Hi, I do not question people using multiple platforms to sell. I've pointed out and documented that what he was saying is his eBay listing and accounto - is in fact a listing of a completely different person. I might be new in the uk community but I have been a member of the Sydney's Riders community for a long time before relocating to the uk.
