After changing the 2017 SP in October for a Crosstourer to ride through winter, I now have a new 2018 SP for summer, three weeks old and 2000miles done already, absolutely blinding bikes these!
Magic, and it's a 'genuine' 2018!! Unfortunately, a few suspect dealers are palming off 2017s as 2018 because they haven't been registered. The unsuspecting will be truly shafted. 2000 miles though? How the f... did you accumulate that many? I thought I'd overdone it by knocking up 500 in 2 months. Proves you really enjoy it, and you're right - they are a blinding piece of kit. And if you sell it before next winter, someone will get a really good deal!I
Easy to tell the 2018 is a slightly different red and has white in the nose of the fairing and the belly pan graphics are different. Ive made the most of the sunny weekends, did over 800 miles Bank Holiday weekend alone
Just an update, not been on here much over the summer been making the most of the fantastic weather, the SP has now done over 7000 miles and will probably reach 8000 this weekend! Brilliant bike that has not missed a beat!!
I love mine I see you have it set in a mode was it wet that day as power turned down TC right up.....
Ah makes sense normal conditions I go for mode 2 in the high summer temps and fast flowing A roads had a go in mode 1 ....great to hear your are enjoying it best bike I have ever had I didn't listen to the press just went out and test ride them all...also 2018 the red is better hoping they don't bring out new 2019 model or wallet going to take a wallop....
7,000 miles! Wow! that is one mean effort. Easy to do of course, on such a great bike. I'm up to 1,300, which, on current projections, means I should hit the 7,000 in March 2023. Hmm. I've been wondering what Honda has in store for us. Next week's MCN paper highlights some 2019 releases - no forecast of what might appear though. Perhaps might learn something at the NEC in November. The realist in me says it will be yet another graphic and paint 're-arrangement' and nothing else.
Nah, that's died a slow death. You might remember the last 'teaser' was the 215 bhp 2019 version https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesoci...018/august/2019-honda-fireblade-image-details Guess we'll believe it if/when we see it!
I picked mine up yesterday. Only managed to get 50 miles in . Now spending the day looking at the blade sitting in the sun while I am forced to watch “the emoji movie”.
EICMA is the 6th - 11th November so not that long to wait. Holding your breath is not recommended though
After doing just over 10500 miles in five months the SP has now gone and been replaced by...........................................
You're not another of these 'I'm too old for sports bikes' and resigned yourself to an Africa Twin with panniers and heated grips?
Nope I had an SP in 2017, got a Crosstourer through winter and then got the new SP all through this summer, I think you would agree that covering 10500 miles in just five months in all weathers shows my commitment to sports bikes. That's more than most do in five years
