Got an MoT booked for tomorrow on my GSXR 600, and was reading through the new changes (though they wont affect me this time). One of the 'new' checks is for missing brake pads/discs ...why have they not been checking for this before! Interestingly on this site: https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesoci...ce/2018-new-mot-laws-what-they-mean-to-bikers ...the fella discusses aftermarket exhausts, emissions and noise. I'm going back to the same tester who passed my Blade with the Racefit on it, and he said there is no rule for noise, however on the linked site above the tester is quoted thus: Nick says: There are still no emissions tests carried out on bikes, besides the noise levels, which are purely down to the tester’s discretion. As long as there’s no mark saying ‘race use only’ or ‘not for road use’, an aftermarket exhaust could pass, though a current reason for rejection is if ‘the type of noise emitted is clearly in excess of that which would be produced by a similar machine fitted with a standard silencer in average condition’.” The bit I have bolded above made me chuckle, there is no way my tester should have passed my Blade if this is an actual rule or maybe he just isnt aware of it, either way I'm happy to be a regular of his
Feck em I say....may as well blow the publics eardrums out while we can before this vanilla world has us all on leccy bikes
Now you mention it . . . There's something appealing about the leccys, but the prices are astronomical for an initiative that is supposed to create a 'friendly environment'. Why are there no government subsidies (I'm not aware of any) similar to the solar subsidies and insulation subsidies? I was even getting psyched up for Yoshimura Super Batteries!!
Jesus man....have you taken your medication today I gather they're already having to make leccy cars make white noise to stop folks walking out & getting squished by them!! If they do the same with bikes I guarantee it won't be a throaty roar it'll probably be on a decibel par with the current tooty toot horn
I work for the vag group in parts. Big meetings been going on about new mot and its future outcomes. Whole group stocked up on certain parts now covered. We get a lot of garages and sales based garages calling up for standard dpf and cats to replace modded gtis golf r and the whole rs and s Audi stuff. I am going to get a standard can for my blade just for mot time . I think it' going to become an issue.
Mmm. The standard's set exceedingly high. I had another look at your bike. Tomorrow I have 4 sprockets to clean
