Saw a few blades there. There were a fair few offs and a spectacular engine failure on the start/finish straight.

Felt sorry for a dude who binned his HP4 on the second lap of the very first session .

The super carbon frame one is the HP4 Race, this was a HP4, prob still a good 20k though. It wasn’t mangled but damaged enough to finish his day by the looks of it.

I just imagined dropping my 2018, so I think I know how he feels.:( And some of the parts prices for these things are just out of context with realism!

Was a pretty busy day so didn't get many clean laps but I was a good 5/6 seconds a lap slower to start with on the blade than on my ZX-7R.

Going to take a bit of getting used to :), you could treat the throttle like an on/off switch on the 7, but was a bit warier on the new bike.

Was taking it steady as it was the first decent trackday i've done on the blade, and it defo needs a good suspension set-up too.

Only had a few moments: :)

Back end stepped out nailing it out the Esses (felt like a mile but prob only a few mm :))
Hit a neutral running into the Melbourne Loop
Had the front brake lock a bit/front tyre chirpping, breaking a bit too hard into the Melbourne Loop (reckon the forks bottomed out a bit)

Was a good day (didn't fall off which is always a positive).

have u not had it set up with the carbon wheels? i'v ohlins forks and there set hard, when I put carbon wheels on it dipped to bottom again, kais told me add 3 clicks compression, which made it better, might still need one more click. the Brembo set up makes it dip again with power of them
try 3 clicks to left (says + on sp forks) ps its a 3mm allen key

I set the sag up but left it on the Comp/Rebound settings it had, had previously been setup with he wheels and brakes by previous owner. Added a bit more compression in the afternoon and it was a bit better. It was set at about 10 clicks out on the compression. Went for the mid range with the sag settings but might need to add a bit more preload too.

Going to get it set-up by the suspension dude at the next one so i've got a good base, not sure about the girlfriends measuring skills :)

    Ah, didn't see this thread

Yep I was there, strange day for me, started off in advanced, got dropped down to inters, not a problem as I don't wake up till around 12 ish:)

In the afternoon I was sort of back up to speed doing 1.48s so was happy with that

The oil spill into redgate was a pain for me, right on line I like to take, meant me cutting inside and struggled with it

As you say, always a good day coming home in one piece

    Rob
