Just fitted a brand new pair of Pirelli Supercorsa SP V2s in the hope that they'll be a good dry road and track day tyre.
Also went for a 55 rear.

How have you guys found your 55 rears? looks at either the supercorse V2's or the Metzler racetech RR's for some nurburgring/track and a bit of road riding

I have Racetec K3s on my 06 track Blade, which have done two days at Magny Cours (exactly two years ago) and two days at Le Mans last year (almost 2 days! - lost front at Musée half way through second day!).

I have a two day track day at Dijon in a few weeks. Are my Racetecs going to be ok after two years and 3 1/2 days on track? One factor is that I am likely to change the bike to something with different sizes after this track day so probably won't get my money's worth out of a new set... On other hand, wouldn't normally skimp on good grippy rubber on track.

    What do you think?

My recent experiance of old tyres id say just be careful and probably if you got the money get new rubber, I had old mould rennsports 2014 dot and took em to the ring 2 years ago and a tiny bit of road riding, then did 2 track days this year and found on the last day the tyres although they had plenty of tread had gone hard and I had to be real gentle coming out of corners as the back end would spin up far to easy compared to the first Trackday.

I have the new Michelin Power RS on the rear in 55 and it has performed flawlessly. 4000 miles, with 3 track days including a trip to the nurburgring and about 3.5 laps round there. At the end of its life now but has given great feedback and unbelievable dry grip all the while. I have bought another one to replace it already. Can't comment on the front as the Michelin supersport Evo is still going strong with about 7000 miles on it, but will replace that with the Power RS when the time comes as well. Hope this helps someone.

I get around 1000-1200 (ish) miles to a set of supercorsa sp v2's, love and trust them. I think it's a trade off miles = less grip, I rode my mates 13 plate blade with qualifier 2's, very nearly upside down.

    Hi there,

I Currently have Supercorsa SP’s on, For grip, stability, turn and confidence you can’t go wrong. Before though, I had Rosso Corsa’s and the were every bit as awesome, I’d say probably better for what you want, Duel comp, loads of grip where you need it, and a few extra miles.... I couldn’t fault em!!

Tried the new Dunlop Sportsmart TT tyres on track and was pretty impressed.

I’m only in the inters my best was a 1:50, so not sure what they would be like if you are into 1:30 something territory. Didn’t have any moments from them and they are wearing pretty well.

Performance bike 2018 tyre test had best road as M7rr and best track/road combo as S21, I use M7rr of season for road and SC1/2 for track with the odd road trip on them when the side are getting low

Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3's are pretty good for aggressive road use and track duty, but they wear very quickly if you are looking for any kind of longevity. .

Fair enough analysis. I think anyone looking for long life would steer well clear of Super Corsas. If they did use them it would clearly show that they'd done no research.

I'm not sure it's as simple as that. I've used Supercorsas a lot because they're widely available and noticeably cheaper than a lot of other trackday tyres. That's also why a lot of club racers use them as there's nothing like new rubber and you have new rubber more often when they're cheaper to begin with.

I plan to go for a change next year to something more expensive, possibly Dunlops, although more for the better grip, but I do expect them to last a bit longer too.

well my D212 pro didnt feel anymore sticky than SC1/2 and lasted about the same? not sure if the D213pro are better, but if better for sticky you can bet they last less!
But strangley i found the D212oro much cheaper than SC, hence why i went for them, a full set of soft front medium rears were £285, I found SC to be well above £320?

Dunlop Sportmax Q3+ are very sticky and turn in remarkably well. I have them on the Repsol.

For fast road and track days I tend to use pirelli Supercorsa's only really ride in dry conditions. Superb grip decent life span. Best tyre I've tried to date

I ditched both Metzler and Michelin and went for Mitas.
The Sporttech + is trackday and fast road compatible.

    Two deciding factors:
    1-Availability in Dubai
2- Exorbitant price of Pirelli in Dubai

Great on fast sweeping sandy roads
    Great on fast sandy racetrack
