Connector for loom side ordered from kojaycat automotive for eight quid and a rectifier ordered from the states for forty quid same part over here was a hundred and twenty.

 

Bloody hell. A lot of us prefer to support our chosen brand, but when we're shafted like that, what's the point?

Make you right mate, I used to get my parts from Ireland as half the Honda dealer prices and exactly the same genuine part.

 

I’ve been buying my Honda parts from Nutjob.ie someone mentioned them on here some time back and on a few things I saved a hell of a lot. I ordered a new chassis for a 600rr, dealers were asking 1600 and I got it for 800 with a discount code. All genuine Honda bits. Some other stuff for the blade I saved around 50- £100. Check them out,

 

I'm going to use these next time, just need to get an order together to get free postage.

I priced up some parts using them and Fowlers and Fowlers randomly came out cheaper on some stuff but for the majority Nutjob were cheaper.

 

I've had a good run from David Silver for my older bikes (just bought an NS sidestand). I'll keep tabs on Nutjob should I require more recent goodies.

Problem for me is if you don't ride 'em you don't need parts!!

 

Well Nigel when you have so many to choose from most of your time must end up arguing with the voices in your head about which one to ride!

 

If you use nutjob use their discount codes, can make a big difference against main dealers

 

The only voices in my head are @Lozzy chewing over what issue to take the 'P' out of me next!!

 

Plug for loom side has arrived and rectifier has been dispatched from the states. So far bikes running ok. I pop it on a trickle charge at lunch at work and its got 13.v each day and comes home ok . Im just nervous to go any further afield till ive fitted new parts. Still thinking about mounting a waterproof fan over it to constantly blow cool air . It gets so hot sat right by the head and with me in commuter traffic each day it doesnt get fast air flow through fairing so i think it might help.

 

Fan's a good idea, but there's Blades riding around in hotter climates than ours which might suggest there's a different problem altogether. (Just my thoughts, though I can't provide a solution)

 

New plug soldered on and new rectifier fitted. System is charging fine so hopefully thats sorted now.
