Know this post was last year! Went to the nurburgring last year with 9 other guys, was good fun and really enjoyed it. We all went in cars, it did rain one day and it was like an ice rink on track.

Guys are all buying new cars now for next year, I'm planning on taking my track bike. Is this stupid going on a bike? They all think I'm nuts but I don't. How did you feel going round on the bike?

Did it this year on the bike. Carnage at weekends, there’s hundreds of cars, mostly trying to get the lap times down and know the track inside out.... if you think your fast on a bike, think again...you’ll have old bimmer 3 series and Vauxhall’s undercutting you and right up your arse. They don’t give a shit about bikes. Go in the week, when it’s open ( usually after 4.30pm) and learn some of the track if you can. If it rains, don’t bother.

Thanks for the advice, I would plan on going through the week anyway so that's good to know. It's such a big track to try and learn! I'll be careful when I go. What about putting wets on in the rain? Or is it just too risky

I believe that they won’t let bikes on if it’s pouring down... just too risky, but if it’s just a bit wet, I’d do it no worries with my normal road tyres...Just be careful of oil and diesel, as it’s a public road after all and you get all sorts on it.
