First shakedown for the CB500. Showed me that the bike works ok and what work needs to be done.

Also sent one of the guys out on it who is already familiar with these to see how it compares. He didn't take long to find air :)

Not all of us made it back in one piece though. One of our group came off at Barn, cracking the generator case on his GSXR and dumping its oil.

Yep, massively down on power compared to the Blade. However, I was still chipping away at the 600's.
It's been a long time since I was able to brake at the 200 yard marker at the end of the Park Straight. I'm braking before the 300 yard mark on the Blade

Here's a bit of a lap for perspective. The green bike passing me at Park is one of the other CB500's.
Bear in mind that it's cold, wet and my first time on the bike.

Good stuff. Gearbox ratios sound good for what's essentially a road bike! You'll nail it in a couple more sessions!!

Well that's down to being slower when you get to Park than when on the blade, will be intesting to see if you can beat your best Blade lap time?

    That's the plan ;)
Thundersport race pace on these is 1:41 - 1:52. If I can get somewhere near there on a track day then I'll be happy. The main thing for me is to learn how much faster these things corner.

The thing about braking on these is that there's far less momentum to slow down.
