What are peoples other interests, i am a boring old fart that doesn't drink, doesn't smoke but do like anything with an engine, i am waiting for the weather to break to get this out of storage.

Dolomite sprint classic mate

 

1850? Beautiful car my friend, absolute classic in my eyes.
How you you owned it?, what’s its history ?

Bought my first Sprint in 79, 5 year old with rust in all the usual places.
As a group of apprentices, 5 of us had Sprints, right little car club we had. Luckily our transport department allowed the internal car clubs to use the garage facilities, so full workshops at our disposal, can’t imagine the health and safety fanatics allowing that today.
Lavished money and love on getting it back to rust free condition.
Then the crank thrust washer bored it’s way into the block, so secured a very low mileage engine from a rolled car and installed that along with a stronger clutch.
Become an expert at balancing fussy carbs
Ended up with different carbs and exhaust.

The now Mrs Kentblade somehow convinced me to sell it before I become bankrupt by the time I was 21, 4 years of love and pain consigned to the history books. The car not Ms Kentblade that is.

Then my mate turned up with a weird thing called a 2002Tii, all very Germanic and spartan....that led to a completely different car journey through life.

 

Very nice, Pete. I've long been an admirer of the Stag, but never opened my pockets or my mind to actually buying one.

I too am a non-drinker and non-smoker and devote nearly all my leisure time to bikes - an interest rekindled post divorce. Might sound like a shallow life, but with my recent acquisition of 50cc aprillias, I now have a demanding project interest that is stimulating and mentally rewarding and might even turn into a bit of a profit-making venture.

Interested about your storage though. Within your own garage or are you paying for premises?

 

As much as I love the older cars/bikes I tend to spend more time with this photographing them

 

Whoa! That is some camera - and lens. I'm not a photographer or camera buff, but I'm thinking that's a top-of-the-line model.

 

I wished Nigel,not cheap but top end equivalent would be sp1 money

 

I play darts in a pub league.
And I don't drink or smoke either.

 

I've got a Season Ticket (actually 2) for The Arsenal football club.
Love the UFC (hopefully it's coming to O2 soon!)
Play golf from time to time (more hacking a zig-zag around my local course)

Not much else really!

 

I watch that often, but only on TV. Those guys, and women, are class acts. True 100% bollocks.

 

Play golf, usually manage a round each weekend, play the Sax and Ballroom/Latin dancing 3 or 4 times a week.

i must admit! i cant remember the last time i put something in there? i think ken has been gone 18 months or so?

 

Had a look and has been a long time now, think it's 2 years now. Him and @Barney1take2 were the main drivers on photography, lots of good advice and tips.

 

barney has gone on to do some amazing work in bsb and ken is a friend who has forgotten more about photography than most know lol

I pay for storage for 1 car and the dolly is in my mother-in-laws garage at the moment, put it in before the salt was put down

I also have another car but if i put a photo up you must not take the p1ss.
